Meet the people behind Create Business Growth

David Williams

davidDavid was affected by the entrepreneur bug at age 15 and has started various businesses off and on throughout his life. After marrying his sweetheart at age 22 and soon after welcoming 2 daughters to the family who are now 13 and 16, David desired a more stable income and quickly rose through the ranks at a Fortune 100 company.

However, he found that the entrepreneurial spirit he had once defined himself by had not dimmed, but had grown more alive. As it did, he became less satisfied working in corporate life, despite having achieved a level of financial success and stature that most people would be thrilled with having.

Before leaving the corporate scene, David began speaking around North Carolina to audiences of small business owners who were hungry to learn how to grow their businesses. The more he spoke with people the more the entrepreneur fire within him grew, until he eventually left the corporate world for good.

David is a founding member of a successful internet growth strategies firm, the co-creator of Create Business Growth, and continues to speak to host workshops and classes for 1000+ people throughout the state of North Carolina.

David is more interested in helping the small business owner than becoming an industry guru and rubbing shoulders with big wigs at conferences. His passion lies in helping those who passionately want to start their own businesses, but aren’t sure how to make the leap from working for someone else to working for themselves.

He believes and lives by the theory that a team approach is more effective and fulfilling than achieving success alone as is personified by his favorite quote by Zig Ziglar displayed in the header, “You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”

Fred Wood

Fred Wood is a former IBM programmer and the recipient of numerous IBM technology awards. Fred has a degree in computer science from North Carolina State University and over 20 years of experience in high-level computer programming.

We have a saying around here: If you can dream it, Fred can create it.

Fred was always creative and entrepreneurial in his youth, but like many future business owners, took the path of a structured career out of college. He served as an officer in the Marine Corps for 5 years before going to work for IBM and later Seer Technologies.

After finding himself without a job along during a string of North Carolina tech company lay offs, Fred decided to take the plug into business ownership he had always dreamed of. Fred is now the founding partner of a successful internet growth strategies firm and the co-founder of Create Business Growth.

Fred is married with 2 daughters, ages 7 and 12. His favorite quote by Theodore Roosevelt tells the story of his entrepreneurial journey: It’s far better to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory, nor defeat.

Christine O’Kelly

christineChristine has felt the fire of the entrepreneurial spirit since age 8 since discovering an “Entrepreneur” magazine on her mom’s coffee table. Her first ‘business’ involved peddling trinkets found in the back of that very magazine to fellow school children.

Christine has been a fanatical reader, writer, and business enthusiast since way back, organizing a team of nine year olds to launch a local ‘newspaper’ which was hand printed on construction paper and distributed to a audience of 9 people. Word of the hand printed newspaper eventually found its way to the feature pages of the much larger Crofton Crier newspaper, sealing Christine’s life-long love of writing, publication, and promotion.

After graduating from California State University San Marcos, she took the next logical step for any starry-eyed graduate clutching a Bachelors degree in Literature and Writing Studies – a sales career. Having established herself as a top-producing sales person, Christine learned that the craft of writing and success in sales are not entirely unrelated. Both require the use of painting clear, emotion-driven images and scenarios through the use of words.

Christine is the founder of a successful internet copywriting firm and a contributing writer to Create Business Growth. She is a single mom with 2 children ages 6 and 7. Christine’s future goals include publishing and traveling around the world to teach others how to empower themselves by building successful online-based businesses.
