Are Men More Easily Persuaded via the Internet?
According to a recent articlemebeli, if you want to persuade a woman of something, you’re better off doing it to her face versus a man. Apparently men can be persuaded just as easily via email. The article is based on a study that was conducted by American psychologists who suggested that the traditional idea of women as more relationship-focused and men as more task-focused is more than just a stereotype.
According to the article, which was published in Telegraph.co.uk:
Rosanna Guadagno and Robert Cialdini, who are both social psychologists, asked single-sex pairs of students to discuss the merits of introducing a new exams system both in an online chatroom and face to face. Unknown to the other test subjects, one member of each couple was instructed to talk up the proposals.hotel furnishing in Bulgaria
The results of the study showed that females were more likely to be persuaded when discussing things in person because they had access to things such as facial features, body movement, etc. On the other hand, males showed no real difference in how they were persuaded when comparing online chatting to chatting in person. This led researchers to conclude that females prefer social interaction versus males as a form of communicating.
So, the next time you want to talk to your wife, mother, sister or girlfriend about something serious, you’d better do it in person!

Yes, I think this is probably so, since women are creatures of emotion whereas men tend to think logically first, and most internet marketing appeals to male logic.

[...] Are men more easily persuaded via the Internet? There is some truth to the fact that men might be more persuaded by things said on the Internet versus things that are said in person. For example, if you were to have a conversation with a man in person (being a woman of course) and you try to persuade him, he might not be as persuaded as he would if you were to send him an email. Other critics claim that women are more easily persuaded by things that are said to them in person because they are more emotional. This is why, perhaps, that the appearance is given off that men are more persuaded by things communicated on the Internet. But, if you look at it more closely, it isn’t so much that the men are persuaded by things communicated on the Internet. Rather, the issue is that because men aren’t as emotional as women, it makes no difference! [...]
