Bloggers: Companies Will Pay for Your Knowledge

As I was reviewing the stats of my new blog Self Made Chick, it occurred to me that was I was seeing as “normal” was probably be revolutionary to many people who are relying on search engines only to drive traffic to their websites.

As bloggers, you know something critical about how the way internet traffic works that people who only use traditional websites don’t understand the power of. That is the power of relationship building and how that can equate to major amounts of qualified traffic.

For bloggers, getting traffic is more than just numbers. It’s a desire to really want to connect with people that is often missing from the traditional marketing plan. And when companies change their goals from clicks and conversions to a desire to really want to affect people’s lives, traffic is just one of the many byproducts.

Here are the stats from the site which has been live now for 15 days:

blog marketing 1

blog marketing 2

blog marketing 3

Most companies are spending thousands of dollars each month on different ways to increase their referrals by search engines. Money spent to increase search engine visibility does work to increase visibility. But from my own experience, a personal referral through a blog post or social networking community will result in more conversions than a high search engine ranking.

I have one site that ranks high on page 2 of Google for my keyword but I receive more qualified leads and significantly healthier stats when visitors come from a referring site rather than from the search engines.

Blog Marketing as a Business

If you know how to generate these kinds of numbers for a business – you are in high demand. Companies will pay money for your knowledge and expertise.

I’m not sure that every business is suited for generating traffic through a blog, but many are, and it takes someone who understands blogging to know what works and what doesn’t in the blogosphere.

If blogging is your passion and you’re looking for ways to earn a living doing it, lending your expertise as a blog marketing expert is a great way to do it!
