I want to commend Josh Mullineaux for his post titled My New Marketing Experiment where he and Nate Whitehill video blog about venturing into new territory – video blogging. I enjoyed the video very much and like the fact that they are committed to trying new things.
A previous boss of mine encouraged everyone in the company to consistently take risks by stepping outside of their comfort zone. He understood that this meant there would be failures. He would say that if you took two steps outside of your zone of comfort and were knocked back one, you would still be one step closer to finding success.
Perhaps the biggest mistake any business owner could make is to never try new things. It can be difficult to take risks – especially when you’ve found a nice place of satisfactory comfort.
Have you recently taken a risk? If so, what was it and what were the results? There’s no better time than the present to try something new. How about making a committment today to take a risk in your business or personal life? What are your ideas?
