Open Net Initiative- According to their site, the aim of the Open Net Initiative is to investigate, expose and analyze Internet filtering and surveillance practices in a credible and non-partisan fashion. The site presents some really fascinating ideas and ways of thinking about censorship on the Internet, and it is definitely something that any and every Web surfer should stop by and check out. You can also follow Open Net on Twitter.
  2. My Virtual Model Community- For all you women out there, this is a fantastic virtual site that allows you to upload pictures of yourself and create outfits to see what styles suit your figure best.  Additionally, it also links up to other sites that sell the various items you’re looking for.  Not only is it convenient; it’s free!
  3. The Power of Many- Written by Christian Crumlish, The Power of Many discusses how people use online social networking to find other people with similar interests so that they can link up.  You can purchase this book on Amazon.com.
  4. A Relationship Economy- Maintained by Jay Deragon, this is a site that deals mainly with issues related to social media.  Extremely well written and insightful :)
  5. Keith N. Hampton- An Assistant Professor in the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennyslvania, Hampton’s blog deals with social media, online communities, Web 2.0 and mobile media. You can also follow Keith on Twitter.

  1. Karlyn Morissette- This is the personal blog site belonging to Karlyn Morissette, and it covers such issues related to: marketing strategy, higher eduction, email marketing and technology. You can also follow Karlyn on Twitter.
  2. Scobleizer- Written by Robert Scoble, this is Scoble’s personal blog, which touches on issues related to Web 2.0, the media and various technological happenings as they relate to the Internet.
  3. Podcast@Mansfield- Another fine example of technology and the web- this is the podcast belonging  to Mansfield University located in Mansfield, Pennsylvania. The podcast covers events that are happening around campus as well as subjects related to media and technology.  Definitely take the time to check this site out!
  4. Customer Experience Crossroads- Managed by Susan Abbott, this blog covers the extremely important issues surrounding customer service and the customer experience (something that is extremely important to those of us in the service industry and beyond.  You can also visit Susan via her LinkedIn profile.

  3. The Old College Try: Marketing Higher Ed- This blog deal with marketing as it relates to education. Topics that are covered include anything from technology to social media and digital advancements.  Definitely check it out!

  2. The Progress and Freedom Foundation Blog- According to it’s website, The Progress and Freedom Foundation is a market-oriented think tank that studies the digital revolution and its implications for public policy. It covers such issues as market-oriented approach to Internet policy issues, telecommunications and digital media, etc.
  3. The Lessig Blog- Written by Lawrence Lessig, a professor of law at Stanford Law School, his blog cover such topics related to the media, law and advertising, digital media, public funding, politics and more.  Definitely check it out!
  4. Tech Daily Dose- For all of you who are politically inclined, this blog definitely delivers.  Tech Daily Dose covers politics as it relates to the media world.  Other topics covered include technology, digital media, radio, print media and other gadgets.  Well-written and presented in a nice, clean format, definitely take a look at this site :)
  5. Intermedia- Managed by Charlie Melichar, vice president for public relations and communications at Colgate University, Intermedia deals with issues relating to interactive media and higher education communications.

Poynter Online- is the blog site for the Poynter Institute, which is a school dedicated to teaching and inspiring journalists and media leaders.  The Poynter Institute was founded in 1975 by the late Nelson Poynter, and today the blog provides information related to the news, Internet marketing, communication and other aspects of media involvement.
  5.
