Getting the most out of MyBlogLog.com
I see many people who are not using MyBlogLog.com to it’s fullest potential. Some of them are actually hurting themselves instead of helping. There is no ultra quick way to long term success, but, if you take the time to do things right you can get there.
Below are some things that will help:
Pick an image that stands out but is still somewhat professional. No girls in swimsuits or cleavage shots. You want people to be drawn to your image above the others they see on the site without offending anyone.
Never copy and paste the same message to the owner’s of different communities. People look around and if they see the same message you wrote to them in other communities they will not join yours.
When you leave a message, make it personal. Go to the blog of the owner of the community, find a post you like, and then leave them a message letting them know you liked the post. Put enough information in your message so they know you went to their site. If you took the time to go to their site, they will be more likely to go to your site.
Never leave a comment that just says ‘Great Blog’. I and many others see that as just spam.
Find communities you like and add at least one each day. Always leave a quality comment when you join the community. Always visit the blog of the owner of the community. Leave a message on the blog if you find a good post.
When you leave a message in one of your communities, try to make it relevant to that community. Don’t just leave a message saying, ‘Come visit my blog’ (spam). If you leave relevant comments, people will visit your blog without you asking.
Put the MyBlogLog plugin on your site. You can use it to quickly find out who has been there and when you see someone new, you can visit their site.
Bottom line: Use common sense and common courtesy and you will do fine.

Thank you. I am new to the whole blogging thing, and I realize now that I was apparently being rude (”great blog”) and not showing the proper appreciation to blog owners.
I *think* I have subscribed to this blog, but I am a member of FastPitch!, so I’m certain I will find your blog again.
thanks again.

This is great reinforcement for me. I began doing the very points that you mentioned in your post when I first joined MyBlogLog.
