Answer: because it entertains us!
Over the years and with the improvements that we have seen in technology, commercials have taken on a mind of their own becoming more creative, catchy and enticing us to watch them all the way through. However, lately it seems that a lot of television commericals are created so that the consumer doesn’t even know what is being sold until the end of the commercial. Janelle, you are right. But it’s not exactly surprising. We improve our techniques to skip ads, they improve their ads so that we’re hooked and won’t skip them
But the problem is we watch them for pure entertainment and I have to wonder if in time they still sell anything apart from the entertainment in itself.
